May 21, 2017 Ford is now offering a SYNC 3 software update that enables Android Auto and Apple CarPlay to model-year 2016 vehicles through computer download onto USB drive,over-the-air via a Wi-Fi connection. Nov 26, 2017 All the info for how to update past Sync 3.0 was deleted from this forum. Web page is sooo trashy with all the refresh bugs at log in. I had to use windows edge to get access to download the update. And when update is completed it won't even let me upload the report file. The owners website is honestly such an embarrassment for Ford, total.
Jul 15, 2018 So earlier this week a Nav icon showed up on the main icon bar on screen when my phone was plugged in. Totally out of the blue. Started Waze on iPhone and ta-da - Waze onscreen. Not sure why it started working 1 month after I installed Sync 3 v3.0, but maybe it was Waze 4.40.0.2 update that did the trick.
